Check Up On Your Family

If you've got a solid connection with your direct family members and want to keep that link alive then work on preserving it. That is to say, from time to time, check up on your loved ones. See how they're doing and tell them about what you've been up to. Instead of waiting for the holidays or whenever unfortunate events would happen, try to call them or at least send them a message. Reach out and be genuine about it. After all, you wouldn't want others to fake their kindness to you too. So you should try to build up positive thoughts and concerns then work on communicating with those you care about. In that way, you would be able to express goodwill effortlessly. This addresses feelings of loneliness and nostalgia. When you would talk to people, you wouldn't feel alone anymore. Plus, you could recall the good times you spent with folks too. So you would experience many benefits from opening up to familiar faces. You don't even have to see them face-to-face. Eve...

Work But Be Smart

Image
It's great if you're able to finish your work on time and with exceptional output. But you have to be smart enough to take care of yourself while you're working. Doing too much can be quite risky and can put you out of work. That's because exhaustion may lead to counter-productivity and errors. So you need to manage your time in such a way wherein you could function well and deliver what is asked of you while being able to have adequate rest. Even when it's not your break time, you should consider resting from time to time. That means looking away from your screen, doing some stretching, and eating to sustain yourself. No matter how busy you are, you always have the time to take a leak, stand up for a bit, and grab a bite. It would be stupid not to stop for a while to recover since no job is ever worth sacrificing your life. Set alarms throughout the day if you need some things to remind yourself that you need to get some time to relax. Make it a part of your schedu...

Improve Your Workouts

Have A Systematic Fitness Plan Instead of working out at random, you should have a system. That is for exercising itself and for your nutrition and recovery. After all, if you'd do physical activities without consistency, you might not be able to stimulate your muscles as well as you want to. Also, you need to feed yourself well so that you would be able to repair damaged muscles and even make them grow. Recovery is very important since such will determine your consistency and progress. When you can't push yourself anymore, you'll stop and you might cease to do activities for a while. When you could keep going, it would be possible for you to accomplish more. Be Active But Be Wise Before you exercise wherever you wish and in whatever manner you want to, you should have plans first. These must include your goals, what exercises you'd do to achieve them, and measuring your performance. If you're going to do cardio that involves walking or running, you should decide wh...

Take Time to Communicate with Friends and Family

There's no telling when you'll see people for the last time so you might as well have good conversations with them while they're still around. While you can, tell them about how life has been for you. Also, try to listen to their stories. After all, it's great to have two-way conversations. It's also a good way to get to know each other better. Now you don't have to have one-on-one talks. You can chat with a group of people all at once. But make sure that you give attention to those whom you're talking to. Likewise, you need to make yourself available for them to focus on you. Sometimes, arguments can happen. That's normal. You only need to respect yourself and others to avoid or respond to such. It's not all good, you know. But, despite the case, you need to understand that such things make life more meaningful. It would be boring to always get along with someone. In some cases, friends and family must have disagreements to have some interesting to...

Busy During the Holidays

Some professionals get to rest during the holidays while others continue to work. I belong to those who keep going during festivities. The nature of my work involves me being compelled to stay functional during the days when a lot of people are resting. How does it make me feel? It does affect me in the sense that I too want to rest. But, knowing that I'm holding a job, I don't feel bad at all. At least I'm working while others aren't. Though many have paid leave privileges, there are also those who have to function to earn their keep. That's just the way it is. I guess the bit of envy comes from not being able to relax as much as others do. As always, to get by, I think of the positive aspects of my situation. That's to say I'm thankful that I'm employed. Also, I'm grateful that I have other things to do than laze around all day. Call it sour grapes but I'm serious about appreciating my circumstance.

Learn to Pray or Be Positive and Optimistic

We don't know what's going to happen next after 2020. That's the only thing that's certain. With that in mind, it would be better to pray. If not that, be and stay positive and optimistic. It makes sense to feel dread sometimes but focus on what can be done. After all, it's better to react favorably rather than dwell on worrisome thoughts. You won't achieve anything but negativeness when you hold on to stress, anxiety, and depression. Work on making yourself better. Improve in order for your life to experience progress. Likewise, when you'd make an effort to be finer or superior, you'll have fewer things to worry yourself about. Get rid of negative ideas in your head or at least learn to adapt to their existence. If you can't program your mind to forget bad things that happened, find a way to fight those thoughts. Sometimes, walk away and just ignore problems if they can't be dealt with immediately. You know, often, you only need to take some ti...

Take Time to Enjoy Life

Occasionally, you ought to consider making time for leisure. Enjoy living. Instead of taking everything so seriously, relax, and take it easy. Anyway, you're never going to get out of life alive. In the end, all human beings die. So we might as well make the most of our lives by doing the things that we want. The needs will always be there but the fulfillment of one's desires matters. So what can you do to make your life enjoyable? First of all, try to list down some things that appeal to you. While doing so, think about what you always wanted to do but were unable to pursue due to several reasons. Also, take into account your curiosities. Of course, this wouldn't be complete without you catering to your concept of pleasure. Yet in having fun you must also be considerate of others. Make sure that your enjoyment doesn't negatively affect those around you. Also, consider that you have limitations. You have the aspects of your body and budget to think about. You can always...

Some Self Defense Thoughts this November 2020

I've been reading a lot of martial arts lately and even started practicing arnis, escrima or kali again. Why? I can't shake off this feeling that something's about to happen. I'm someone who promotes optimism and positiveness but there are just some things that bring out the defensiveness in me. Because of the limited resources right now and the present condition of the economy, I'm just making myself ready for anything. You can't expect people to just sit and do nothing about their problems. Countries in need of resources and that have different political interests may have serious disagreements and such. It comes as no surprise why so many in the world right now are thinking that some nations are ready to overpower others. But this isn't to say that it's just to be paranoid nowadays. These are only practical ideas. Because of the possibility that trouble may surface, I started working on my self-defense skills again. It's not even only because oth...

Adapting to the New Lifestyle

Making Work From Home Adjustments Working indoors means doesn't only mean being functional for several hours. It means taking on tasks while attending to household matters. Unlike working in an office, you can't just sit and do your job in front of your desk. You still have to take care of what goes on inside of your home. It'd been tough at first but I managed to adapt. Although I'm living alone at the moment, in a way, I'm thankful. I could only imagine how it would have been, had I lived with my parents, or if I had a spouse and children. This quarantine, I'm on my own and I'm thankful. It's a good thing that I have a computer with a microphone and earphones too. Having such keeps me preoccupied and alive altogether. That's because I have an online job that pays a decent amount of money to keep me alive because of my gadgets. Still, though I'm with no one but myself, it has been a bit difficult. That would be due to not having any help ar...

Some of the Websites I Enjoy Using

The internet is such a huge place and there are so many websites to be a part of. Although I wanted to join each one, I decided to only sign up to be a member of a few. That's because I thought to myself, "I don't have enough time to check on everything. Maybe having some social accounts will suffice." And that worked for me. Instead of connecting to whatever page I could think of or was suggested to me, I went ahead and chose only to stick to some sites. WordPress . It's my main blog site where I post about things that I think could help people out. It's what I use to keep and share useful information plus store memories for future review. It's got a nice interface to it. The dashboard that it has helps a lot, much like here in Blogger. With it, it's easy to customize and also write content to distribute online. Facebook . I use it to chat, get some thoughts out, and also see what people are up to these days. I know it's been under fire for quite ...

Arguing with People Online

You have to be firm with your decisions. Because of that, when you say something online through comments, you've got to stick to what you started. You have to understand that there's no pleasing everybody and you'll likely get ideas rejected since you've no control over what folks think. Despite this, you ought to continue to speak your mind. You've full control over yourself.         Of course, you must be considerate. But disagreements are bound to happen and you might be compelled to be confrontational. Be brave enough to persevere. Let your ideas remain as they are. Don't bend to anyone's will because in doing so you establish your identity. You have to be strong. People who've succeeded in different industries didn't reach their position by merely tagging along. They're the ones who should inspire you to grow and become stronger. Do what they do and stand by your thoughts and principles.         Haters are go...

How I Work on My Physique This Time

Well, you can't go to the gym nowadays so there's no other choice but to do workouts at home. But that's alright. I've no problems with the idea. I've been doing it for the longest time, anyway. Besides, I have some free weights, handlebars, and exercise programs to use.               Even if I know that you need to rest, as part of my routine, I do some lifting on-the-daily. I can honestly say that I do supersets and many of them until I feel worn out. Is it healthy? I don't think so. Not entirely at least, I mean. But it seems to be helping me get in shape and become stronger faster. Unlike before, I can now do the military press many times and with weights that I'd classify as extra heavy. I don't want to disclose numbers, though. Still, I do bodyweight exercises. Push-ups, dips, and planking, to be exact. Yet, to really take it up a notch, I've made it a part of my routine to also throw som...

Writing Helped Me Cope

Many are saying that it's the end times now but I doubt that that's true. There's an incurable disease at the moment and that's about it. People are working hard to find a vaccine to address the situation. Also, it's very unproductive to preoccupy one's self with such trivial matters. Science may not be perfect but it sure beats mysticism. Folks in the pharmaceutical and medical industries are doubling their efforts. Their goal is to make everything alright. Sometimes, though, the bad news gets to you. Humans are social beings and happenings affect us even when we're not conscious about it.                 Social media can indeed be overwhelming sometimes and I struggled to ignore the news too. People share a lot of negativeness and it's depressing. But I started writing and it helped me vent off my emotions. Regardless of the gossips that I heard and the headlines that I read, I bec...

Happy Times are Now

I've been single for quite some time now and things have been a whole lot better. Sure, my last romantic relationship was fun, but it had problems that made the breakup inevitable. My ex was helpful enough to support me get back on my feet when I was down and out but likewise limited my potentials somehow. Because we're not together anymore, I'm able to pursue my interests and passions. But it's not just losing the past romance which I'm thankful for. Treating some friends as casual acquaintances helped too. Having fewer companions gave me more time for myself and my family. In fact, because of the seemingly bad things that have happened to me, I was able to strengthen my relationship with my parents.                Survivalism is something that my former friends and recent ex didn't like very much. They saw it as a form of paranoia but I defended the movement like I guarded a close...
